The foundation of my therapeutic approach is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, where I offer the core conditions of empathy, non-judgement and unconditional positive regard, to support you in working through your issues. Following my completion of a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, I also work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where this may be suitable. This can be a more directive approach in making changes to unhelpful thoughts, feelings or behaviours you may be experiencing. Additionally, I have training and a specialist interest in third wave CBT practices, such as Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness.

I provide a free 20 minute face to face or telephone consultation, where we will discuss what you wish to gain from your therapy sessions and how we may work together to achieve this. This will also give us the opportunity to establish if we would work well together, before you commit to therapy. There is strong evidence that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is the main attribute towards a positive outcome in counselling and therapy.
